Commonwealth Games 2026: Victoria Confirmed as Host
Regional Victoria to Host 2026 Commonwealth Games
Victorian Government Announces Host Status for 2026 Commonwealth Games
The Australian state of Victoria has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with the event set to be held in regional Victoria.
The Victorian government announced on Monday 17 July 2023 that Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, and Gippsland will be the host cities for the Games.
The announcement brings to an end months of speculation about the location of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Victoria beating out rival bids from other Australian states and international cities.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be the first time the event has been held in regional Victoria, with the previous three Games in Australia being held in Melbourne (2006), Sydney (1938 and 1962), and Brisbane (1982).
